New strain of RVHD

We have had a few messages in the past few days from people who have been planning to attend the festival, but are understandably worried about the new strain of RVHD.

’We have consulted with our veterinary advisor to review our protocols and we want to assure you that we are taking every precaution possible to minimise the risk of transmission of any pathogens; human or rabbit. The venue has abundant toilets which are regularly cleaned and easily accessible for anyone. We encourage you to wash your hands as often and for as long as required. In addition, we will ensure there are hand sanitisers throughout the venue.

Understandably any public event may involve the risk of pathogen transmission - we'd like to ask everyone to consider the footwear and clothing they are wearing to the festival. This will ideally be clothing that will not have come into contact with your rabbits on the day of the festival and had been cleaned and prepared in advance. We would also encourage you to change before going home or as soon as you arrive home. By being considerate of each other we can ensure everyone has a fantastic time and we all come together for the welfare of rabbits.'
